OUR EDITORIAL STANDARDS
A recommendation should
help you make a decision.
How we research, explain and maintain our guides.
Explain the recommendation
We describe the intended reader, the practical advantages and the relevant limitations of a recommendation. A top-ten list is an editorial shortlist, not an exhaustive survey or a claim that one option is best for everyone.
Make the research visible
We link to material sources and prefer official information for rules and operational details. Background guides can be useful for geography and context, but historical information is not treated as verification of a current price, opening time or restriction.
Be precise about experience
We distinguish desk research from first-hand reporting. We do not invent visits, testing, reviewer qualifications or an individual author. Team-written content is credited to the RateThailand Editorial Team.
Keep commercial relationships clear
The beach guide contains no paid placements or affiliate booking links. If commercial links or sponsorship are introduced into an article, they should be disclosed where relevant. A listing or commercial relationship must not be presented as an independent customer rating.
Use meaningful dates and credits
Article dates reflect the edition of the content. We do not advance them automatically simply to make a guide look newer. Photographs are credited with their sources and licences and should not imply a recent inspection of a destination.
Correct material errors
Email info@ratethailand.com with the article URL, the issue and a supporting source. We assess reports and make appropriate corrections. Copyright, privacy and other rights concerns can be raised through our legal and takedown process.
